Michael Yon Interview

America lined up to thank Michael Yon last night on Pundit Review Radio. What an outpouring of support for the great work he does, bringing us vivid, well-written and compelling reporting from his base in Mosul.

We heard from fathers and wives of servicemen serving in Michael's unit, and we heard from regular people who just wanted to say thank you to Michael for his brave and always balanced reporting. The respect and admiration for Michael was real and it was very moving.

Hopefully, people were moved enough to financially support his work, as we are all the beneficiaries of it. Visit his blog and hit the Support The Dispatches button, if you are able.

We took calls from Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Alabama, Washington and California. Not bad for a Boston-based show! Simply put, word got out and America lined up to say thank you to this generation's Ernie Pyle.

We were glad to help make that happen. Michael will be back with us from Mosul in the very near future.

Remember, you can check out Kevin & Gregg on Pundit Review Radio every Sunday evening at 9pm at WRKO where we will be giving voice to the new media. Each week we will bring you interiews with leaders in the citizen journalist movement, people like Michael Yon who you will hear no where else but Pundit Review Radio. Thanks.

Aloha Guys...
Great show last nite with Mike Yon. Glad I was finally able to get through. Next time you have him on, ask him about "Hunting Gators." He says it's safer than catching terrorists. (And gators can't "Google" his name, either, haha.)
Seriously, Mike is the right guy at the right time and is bringing the TRUTH to an audience hungry for just that. He's everything right about the emerging new media and the more I read his posts, the more I see a need for alternative media.
Great that you have audio archives of the broadcasts as well. Last night was my first time listening, but from the archives, I've listened to a few of the past shows already.
I'll continue working on my Journalism degree, but maybe someday, I hope to morph the best of both worlds.Until then, Mike can post about world-changing events and I'll continue feeding the masses with breath-taking accounts of NCAA Division II golf and cross country.
Keep up the good work...

Good program. Thanks for making the audio available online. You guys are doing a great job.
And as I just said in my post, Michael Yon is gifted as a reporter. Born to the job, it seems.

I'm so glad you guys had Michael on your program last night. I've been talking to him in email for months now. I finally got to actually talk with him in person on your broadcast.

Michael Yon is one of the best writers I have come across. Reading his dispatches actually puts me right there in the middle of the action.

Although, there is tragedy when a soldier is killed, Michael has managed to bring a little humor, sometimes sarcastic, to a terrible situation. War is hell. They've got to release the stress and tension some how.

Michael Yon is a hero as far as I'm concerned. He puts his butt on the line the same as our soldiers do....only he doesn't get to carry any weapons.

This is real reporting not the fluff junk the mainstream press puts out. Michael tells it like it is....the good, the bad and the ugly.

I compare his picture of Major Beiger cradling Baby Farah in his arms after the explosive attack to the one of the fireman cradling the dead baby after the OKC bombing. That picture won a Pulitzer. Michael deserves one too. I hope some journalists will nominate him for one. I intend to meet with the head of Auburn University's Journalism Dept. to see what the process is and if they would be willing to nominate him.

I've loved chatting with Michael, when he's had the time, because he's got a somewhat whacky sense of humor the same as me. Very early on we got into a discussiona bout guns and knives. I think he was surprised I knew so much and actually owned several. I asked him what repsectable home-grown Bama gal wouldn't own guns and knives? He nicknamed me Pocahontas.

Glad he's going to do a book about his experiences over there. The American People need to hear the realilty of what's happening in Iraq. I'll be in line to buy the first one.

Thanks.
Linda in Bama

P.S. Michael, be careful and watch your butt! I'm praying for you and Deuce Four everyday as well as for all our soldiers and the innocent Iraqi civilians.

I'm so impressed with his dedication to the soldiers and reporting the truth! Keep it up. I guess I better put my money where my mouth is soon, donate some cash to his cause, and then buy/read Danger Close. I look forward to his next book already!

Thanks to Michael for helping me hold on to our soldiers work in Iraq. Your blogs will help make sure the people in Iraq become free at last, free at last, thank God Almight they can be free at last if we don't abaondon the fight to quickly. Sympathy for the families of those lost and to make sure it was not in vain we need to finish this job. Let the people enjoy press freedoms, religous freedoms, race freedoms and sexual freedoms to name a few. If this can happen in Iraq believe me it can happen all over the ME. No matter if there is no WMD there is much better things for all citizenry in life than fear of WMD. Michael your work made us realize again our support is what makes the soldiers day.

Everyone has days when they are down, worn out, coping with anxiety and just not feeling all that happy.

That's OK, you need to have days like this, otherwise how would you know when you are happy. You need to have something to contrast your happiness with. What is black without white?

Even though you know that sadness (coping with anxiety) is a part of life, let's try to make it a small part of life.

With that said, here are a few tips to help you feel better when you are feeling down in the dumps. They are easy to do, easy to practice every day and they work!

1. Stand up straight, sit up straight. When your body is in alignment your energy can flow and when your energy is flowing freely, you can flow.

2. Smile! Yes, just smile. Easy to do and effective.

3. Repeat positive affirmations. Things like "I feel good", "Positive energy flows through my body", "I see the good in all".

4. Listen to some music that you like. It doesn't have to be anything specific, just something you enjoy. Certain types of music work better than others, but experiment and see what works for you. Studies have shown that Classical music and new age music work best.

5. Take some time out for yourself, relax and read a book, do something for yourself.

6. Meditate. Meditation is an excellent habit to develop. It will serve you in all that you do. If you are one who has a hard time sitting still, then try some special meditation CDs that coax your brain into the meditative state. Just search for "Meditation music" on Google or Yahoo and explore.

Our outside work is simply a reflection of our inside world. Remember there is no reality just your perception of it. Use this truth to your advantage. Whenever you are sad, realize that it is all in your mind and you do have the power to change your perception.

These tips will lift you up when you are down, but don't just use them when you are sad or coping with anxiety . Try and practice them everyday, make them a habit. You will be surprised at how these simple exercises will keep the rainy days away.

On a final note, if you are in a deep depression that you can't seem to shake, please go see a doctor. This is your life and don't take any chances. coping with anxiety

Hi there ##name##,

I read your comments on the business opportunity icome honestfortunes.com. As for me and I believe many average jacks out there, keeping a day job is a necessity. However, up until 7 weeks back I could not face another day without the knowledge that I need to radically change my life inorder to stay in credit..and start dreaming about savings.

The explosive nature of the internt and its supercon artists (experienced net-marketers) is singularly responsible for the 98% failure rate of all newbie related online business failures.

In my view any one wanting to explore their luck online is doomed to failure. The problem with the newbie is not that of access to quality products. No, it is how and where to market the product that has been dumped rather cleverly by the experienced marketer in the newbies hands.

After 4 years of trying almost every strategy without success I can honestly say any one trying their luck on online opportunities needs be ware. Prospecting and marketing costs are way too high for the newbie. Often, as only I have learnt, the newbie puts money into hyped marketing systems that do not deliver the traffic that is required for making sales.

A clever solution to this newbie predicament has been solved by Bill Osterhout's Prosperity Automated System. In here there is no selling, no prospecting, no marketing. No emailling lists here, no advertisements, no phone calls, no no MLMs or chain letters. The PAS system hooks its self to search engines when people search for business opportunity icome honestfortunes.com related information. It sells itself or whatever product you happen to be promoting, closes the sale for you and you get the money. Bill has levelled the playing filled, compelled the newbie to make money or make excuses, while allowing the experienced marketer to feed the system with steroids for enhanced sales.
Everyone closes a sale here within a month or so, getting $3000 per sale. It is here: http://www.MegaWealthy.com/224

I thougth I should help some of your readers who may have given up hope...well now there is!

To your success

Just as I was going out to dinner, my friend emails me this site about Certification large mortgage self uk that immediately caught my attention. Every other site I went to had popups or something annoying like that. But not this one site. No annoying popups and it allowed me to actually find the specific information people are searching for.
